For de som skulle lure så er overskriften "Bare ikke kall meg hiphop-Pål" en slags spøk rettet mot den forrige artikkelen Askøyværingen gjorde med meg der de kalte meg hip hop-Pål. Dette synes jeg var en utrolig teit overskrift, noe jeg gjorde tydelig uttrykk for på i sosiale medier.

Det siste jeg sa til journalisten denne gangen var: "Bare ikke kall meg hip hop-Pål slik som forrige gang".

Da kom vi inn på tanken om at det hadde jo vært en hilarious overskrift - og jeg tillot meg å nok en gang ende opp som mobbeoffer på jobben. So there u go. It's all for laughs and good fun! (selv om bilde ser dønn seriøst ut, hehe)

The beats are awesome no matter where you come from.

Here you can see me, HC & ALF (and a surprise appearance by Dr.Deem) doing an unplugged version of the song "Thank U" @Feitaboogie Mini Festival day 1. By unplugged I really mean NO MICS - and if you have ever performed at small clubs or bars, you know that the audience will not shut up!

It's hard to capture moments like these on video, because you will not get the chance to experience the atmosphere and the mood that went down right there & then. The performance may feel awkward and the sound may be terrible, but this can be a little taste of what a PB performance can be like.

Det er et år siden forrige gang, men denne helgen spiller jeg hele TO KONSERTER i forbindelse med FEITABOOGIEMINIFESTIVAL.

I kveld (14okt.) går det ned på Vågen fetevare i Bergen sentrum. Her vil du få høre akkustiske versjoner av 3 låter fra det kommende albumet (vil det noen gang komme??). Dette med god hjelp fra ALF (Idol + Major Parkinson fame) og HC (ekstremt dyktig trommis). Jeg vil også gjeste på et par låter sammen med bergensrapperen KNX. Jeg går på scenen kl.22.45.

Andre som opptrer er Vågensjefen selv FINN DAVID PAVELS og SOJO - et all star orkester bestående profesjonelle av musikere både fra Norge og utlandet. Med andre ord, det blir litt for enhver smak i kveld!

18 år, 50 kr inngang.

They rap in their native tounge(Norwegian), but I'm sure the music can be appreciated any where in the world. I like to call their style "poetical hip hop", a nice alternative for those who are not into hip hop or the typical radio hip hop.

The album is just around the corner and the releaseparty is set on the 26th of August. Support act is "SHEPHERD" (Alarmclock Connection). Check out the Facebook event RIGHT HERE.

I just did a track with an artist from Bergen called KNX. I actually recorded it yesterday! The song is kind of uptempo hip hop song, not typical me, but it's cool do such once in a while! I was asked by my friend KNX to join, and we've been talking about doing a collaboration for about ten years now, so it was about time! :-)

The beat is produced by my man DELARIO.

I hope that you will respect my music and I hope that you will take your time to listen before you judge, no matter where you're from and no matter what musical taste you may have.

I realise that this album may not be for EVERYONE, but I hope and wish that EVERYBOY will find something that they can like or at least appreciate in any way. The music? I could have said a little bit of this and a little bit of that. As an album, I could have said you got to dig deep to find something like this. And in a Norwegian musical context, I could have said that this album is uniqe. I could have said it's a cross between hip hop, contemporary rock, singer/songwriter and pop. But I wouldn't. Because then people would think I was cocky and high on myself. :-)

I know that there's a certain risk to not have any guest rappers or any club bangers on a hip hop album, there's a certain risk to label myself alternative and not have any radiosingles, and I know there's a little chance to reach out to "my audience" without the help from you, my friends and supporters. So if you, or someone you know, are into MUSIC and have a website, blog, magazine, paper, radiostation or whatever for a short review, interview or just some words or a picture, PLEASE let me know if you can help me out in any way!

"Originality is Not For Everyone" is the headline!

"Props for Creativity and Originality? But That?s About It"

This is actually a review of Mesayah's EP "Paradise of Paradigms". But I have made ALL of the music! Gotta count for something!

Despite the 3.5 stars out of 10, the author said "MesAyah?s sound is undoubtedly something all his own and his style is also, but unfortunately that style may be lost on some? myself included." And he finished by saying "If you are looking for something fresh in hip hop, MesAyah deserves his shot. And, while his sound is not for everyone, he certainly has a niche. Maybe you are his niche? if you don?t check him out yourself, you?ll never know.

BEATBATTLE is a competition hosted by the ON/OFF crew (DJ Nuhhh, DJ Purpurr, DJ Baz).
Rules are simple: download a selected sample and make something out of it!
A jury choose a winner and the top ten will be published online.

There have been two rounds so far and I have contributed both times.
Didn't make it to top ten last time and probably won't this time either.
BUT it is good fun in just making the music.
Like some of you know, I never use SAMPLES in my own work,
so this is a different way of working for me.
