I have been slow on the blog updates lately but after Sogndal my life have been pretty boring since then.

Was in Oslo twice to watch the crazynes going on down there. The host of this blog blogg.no have fucked up things so if you read my blog  from Internet explorer most likely all you wil see is something who looks like chaos...Because of that i lost my bloging skills but now im back.

Headed over to Voss yesterday for this years competition and the 2nd stop in the norwegian freeride cup. Was pretty stoked because of all the snow and to see all the people again.

After the riders meeting mostly of the riders wasnt that stoked any more. Because of the awalanche danger they ended up on the same face as the last two years. A really boring face where it is just a few opertunities for lines.It's kind of bad whyn you pay that much to ride a contest and you end up riding this kind of face.

This morning we woke up to heavy snowfall and got really stoked about the conditions. Due to the heavy snowfall and the bad vision they canceled today's competition and will try again to morrow.

My body is not in good shape so for me it is good to get another day of rest.

Friday morning the alarm went off 06.00 and the bus was leaving 07.00 up to the competition area.

Someone forgot to turn the light on so the first 20min up there the competition face was hard to orientate in since it was kind of white out and hard to see how the landings was. It was a steep and cool face with many futures. After many different lines in my head I got to compose my line, but on our way up I changed the last part since I could see that the landing was better than expected.

When it was my turn to drop in I was pretty calm that is unusual for me in comps. I use to be super nervous before I get the go. I had a easy line in the top ending up in a big drop in the bottom. As usual I lost my line already on top and didn't hit the top cliff as I wanted but it was ok. After my second element I totally lost it could not find my way to the exit point and my skiing felt really bad.

Jumped out a small waterfall instead of the cliff but I did not fall and it's like 2 years since last time I did not crash in a competition. Qualified as nr 12. who was ok. The top 10 riders really skied well today!!

On Saturday they opened the rest of the face ant it was a great competition area! Steep and many features all over the mountain. I chose a line in the center of the face pretty much straight down from the top ending in a short traverse in the bottom for a cliff but on the way up many people talked about go down in the same area and I started to be scared for only ice left for me so I figured out that I just should cruse some powder turns down the skiers right of the face and enjoy the good snow instead of be super nervous about my line and maybe get lost again. And so I did! It was a super nice run with good snow some small pillows and I had a good time. Pretty safe run and I had a good time on my way down. Came down and people asked if I totally lost my line again but no...

Skied safe the whole weekend and I got 8th place in the end so I'm happy with that. Maybe I should keep it simple in the future and get more top 10 spots...

A great weekend perfect conditions, good weather and all the cool people to hang out with so thank to you all!!

Tonight it's kick off in Sogndal with riders meeting and we will be able to see the competition face for the first time. The freeride cup has 6 stops this season and Sogndal are the first one. The last weeks sogndal have got loads of snow so i think this could be really fun! After last season i was pretty done with competitions and didn't know if it was that direction i wanted to take my skiing. It might be because of all my crashes or something but my feeling was that i was done with competitions the same day as i quit my ski jumping career.

When i signed up for this years competitions i was pretty shure i was going to say no to the comps i got in to but the last weeks i have been looking more and more forward to ride competitions again. It might be because i have got a good confidence on my riding this season after some great weeks in Canada and some good sessions in Voss. Don't know but i fell this could be a good season.

Started to fell the butterflies in my stomack last night when i was thinking about the competition and how it is from you wake up on a competition day until you go to bed. This is going to be a smashing weekend in Sogndal with good weather and hopefully some good competition conditions. Excited to see the face we are going to ride. In my head it hopes for some big mountain stuff but i think it will be some kind of open field combined with some forest skiing. Thats all for now going to post updates, pictures and videos from the weekend as often as possible!

After the weekend in Voss it was back to normal here in Hemsedal. My week have been pretty soft, working and skiing. No more snow so it have been mostly park skiing and some turns to look after some good snow but it looks like everything have fallen in West this winter.

After a weekend with some friends up here I decided to use my Monday to sleep, drop by House of Hygge and get done with the Canada Movie. So now you can check it out here on my blog.

This week I will work a couple of days and then Head over to Sogndal for this winter's first freeride competition. It looks like it can be a epic weekend over there. Totally bluebird and -16 degrees all weekend. With the snow they got last week's it should be sick but I'm kind of scared that the wind have been over there to and made the snow wind packed on some spots and that kind of sucks of you don't know if you land in powder or packed snow after a cliff. Hard to decide the size of your cliff when you don't know if it will be a soft or hard landing but I'm looking forward to it. Our trip to Voss gave me a good confidence on my skiing so hopefully I can turn my crashing strikes from last year over to some positive skiing and get a score this year!!

After some weeks back home in Hemsedal with work and park shred we heard some rumors about a huge snowfall over the west side again. Since Hemsedal has been outside the snow field this winter me and Mr. David Underland decided to leave the valley and go for a weekend in Voss. After some phone calls and organizing we were ready to go. But all ready on the way over rv 52 we got "problems" the road was closed because of storm and bad vision so we got told to wait 1.5h but luckily after 15 min they were able to open the road again. the closer we got to Voss the more snow we could see and the snowfall was increasing! After a short visit at Benjamin Hjort's place we headed down town Voss to meet up with Asbjørn Hellås and drove up to Kjøttulf's apartment that we slept in the first night. We woke up 7am on Saturday to 20cm fresh pow on the ground. After breakfast we drove up to Bavalen and Voss resort. Since we was there 8.45 and the lift's didn't start before 9.30 we took it easy. Headed down to the lift after getting our lift tickets and still had 30 min to wait. Around 9.15 the local "hero" Eirik Øvereide came and fixed us in so we could get up 15 min before all others. So now we was ready for first tracks and had our own local guide. On top it was blowing but we could see that it was loads of snow. Dry and nice pow! We started off with a mellow run who was ok but not top 10. After this Eirik decided to take us out to a nice shot in the forest that he knew was untracked. Oh yea it was untracked. Nice wide open field packed with snow from top of the mountain and all the way down! After this run we was pretty stoked! Was it possible to get something better? The day went by like this on and on again. It was crowded up there but the local guides knew how to find the secret spots! After a short lunch break Eirik left us and we started to discover the mountain by our self. On a run in the forest we totally missed out and found a line who was packed with trees and was tracked. Half way down I managed to fall out a 3-4m high cliff backwards and en up under a tree who was 1,5m away from the cliff. Pretty shocked and stuck. But I got out of it and was good to go again! After this we headed back to a cliff band on top of the gondola that we bombed before lunch but we had a double drop that we wanted to hit. On our first try we missed it but found a nice 8-10m cliff that we jumped off. First Asbjørn and David got some nice air of it and they tried to tell me that I could take it from the top as a double but in my head it looked tricky since I had to turn 90 degrees after the first landing to not land in some trees so I sent it from the top and straight out. We got it on film and it was super sweet!

On our next try we found the cliff we wanted and had a good session on it. Tired after a day with skiing from 9-4 we headed down to by some stuff and find a place for our camp. We was going to camp in a tent that night. It was a great night out! Fire place inside David making a great dinner some cold beers and just relaxing.

we woke up early on Sunday ready for another great day of skiing. Today Benjamin Hjort was our guide and he found some nice spots for us but we was pretty crushed after Saturday. After lunch we tried some more runs before we called it a day around 14.00. It was a super sweet weekend with so many nice people around and good to get some cliff jumping done. Now we are ready for Sogndal next weekend and the first competition this winter.

Will post a video later from the trip but I have two short ones for you. The first you can try to figure out what happened in and the other is a short edit from some park action from Monday.

After three fantastic weeks in Canada I'm back home in Hemsedal. It felt kind of strange to be back here after three weeks in powder heaven. Some snow has fallen since I left, but it is still a bad season. Saturday morning I meet up with photographer Nils-Erik Bjørholt and the Vertikal Team. He was going to shoot some pictures of the team riders to Vertikal's new catalog and asked if I wanted to join and try to get some pictures done for Beerenberg. We had a plan but bad light and lack of snow made us change the plans. We ended up on a spot we used in November last season who was really fun with many opportunities on a small area. We got some ideas and started off with different things. Martin Ruud from the Vertikal team decided to go for a back flip and built a little jump to get some help to get airborne. And yea he stomped it and got a good shot. My body and head was still in Canada so everything didn't go as planned but in the end we got some shoots as well.

On Monday I was back at work trying to get in to the normal life again. So for the next weeks I will try to get some work done and see what happens in the rest of my season. Got a spot in the freeride competition in Sogndal so 17th- 20th of February I will try to get some good runs in sogndal and don't crash as I do way to often in Competitions.

Will try to post some updates on what's happening in the next weeks. Have a plan in my head so let's see if I can get it done! Tell you if I can manage that! :D

The days in Revelstoke runs by. Mostly it is all about skiing and hanging out with cool people. Meet many nice people we know from before and even some really nice locals. The snow here is totally on our side it has been snowing almost every day since we arrived. One day with bluebird and the rest is history. Because of all the snow it haven't been much weather for photo or filming but we got some nice photos and one good video shot the day with bluebird. Tomorrow I guess will be our last day skiing in Canada for this time and it is dumping outside the window so it will be another great day.

Today was kind of a down day. Started great with really good snow and while we was waiting for the South bowl to open we found some nice mini golf runs in the beginning of North Bowl. In the second run out there I found a nice little drop but the landing wasn't as steep as I hoped so lost both my skis in the landing. After 45 min I gave up to find one of my skis so then the day was over. Skiing down with one ski Erik Helped me out and gave me one of his skis down to the middle station. Luckily I have two pairs with me so tomorrow we will try again and hope to keep both skis on! :D

I'm sorry that I have been slow on the updates lately. I had a plan to write about the day with Cat skiing but since Erik is waiting for an answer from a web side who may use his pictures I will wait with it so they can post the story and pictures first.

On Friday morning we woke up early as "normal" I have been awake from 07.00 every morning since we arrived...don't know why but it happens. After breakfast we jumped in to the skiing clothes and planed some more hiking around the ski area in Rossland but then the easy snow changed to rain and I told the guys that we should think about heading up to Nelson or Revelstoke instead. After 15 min we had packed our bags and the car was ready to leave Rossland for this time. We lived at our friends Hampus and Lisa's place. Ski in ski out place close to the lift system. After about 1h drive we arrived in Nelson and headed up to Whitewater ski resort, but after 5 min we found out that we wanted to drive all the way to Revelstoke. After another drive on 5h we came to Revelstoke and Checked in at a nice Motel called Mountain View. Went early to bed after a good dinner.

Saturday we woke up to clouds and bad vision but allot of snow. The mountain was really tracked but we found some really good snow close to the lifts and in the end of the day they opened the South bowl so we got a nice run there with knee deep snow! We was really tired after the traveling and a long day of skiing so we went down to the city for some dinner. Went home for a shower and to take some beers before we headed down town again for a party in the Canadian way. The night ended sometime late.

Tomorrow Monday it is supposed to be sun so now we are heading to bed so we are ready for another killer day out there!!

We meet Ylva who used to be a Hemsedal Local but now have moved to Revelstoke.

Sam from England was stokad about meeting so many scandinavian people on one place!

The clock is 08.00 her in Canada now and the snow is still great!

On Sunday we had a killer day up at big red toghether with Peak Video Production from USA. They are traveling arround to 5 diffrent spots to make a 30 min tv program and asked if we wanted to fil with them on sunday.

After signing some papers we were ready to hit the forest. The terrain was super nice and the snow even bether. 50cm of fresh snow out there. Some of the lines we had to drop in a lithle bit from the top because of the avalanche danger but it was nice. When we was donne we got invited for dinner together with the crew so after a shower we went up to them to give them our helmet camera shots and eat a really good dinner. While we where there Jim the filmer edited a 5 min video from the day. So you can check it out and i wil write more about the day when im back from skiing!!

Wednesday morning we left Fernie and went for a 4h drive to Rossland. Rossland is a place none of us have heard that much about other that they were supposed to have some great skiing out there. The drive was super nice Erik was handling the car as usual and I was the co-pilot and in charge of the map. We passed many small places who looks exactly the same as in the movies. Really cool country to check out by car. On the way we drove trough crowsnest pass where it was snowing really hard, it looked like a really good area for hiking with the terrain and snow conditions it might have been a perfect day up there. We arrived in Rossland around 15.00 and started the search for a place to stay. It is a really small town but we found a really cool hostel with good prices so we decided to stay there until at least Monday. The rest of the day we just took it easy checking out the town and get ready for skiing the day after.

Thursday we woke up really early even before the alarm started to ring. After a really good breakfast we went up to the hill and was ready to ski when they opened. We meet up with Hampus from Sweden, pretty cool to meet Hampus in Red when we have been living at the same place in Austria for 2 seasons and newer skied together before we meet over here. He is doing a season here so he was our guide of the day. The terrain on this mountain is amazing, it is cliffs in all sizes small pillows and bigger ones. It is two mountains with lifts but it is a small resort compared to Europe. You can go down on all sides of the mountains because it is built cat tracks all around so it is easy to go back! We had a really cool day up there found many runs up there. This is the busiest week here in the whole season but we still found good and un touched snow under the main lift and on easy access places. Erik got some pictures so it was a perfect first day.

We were really tired after skiing all day so after dinner we just hang out in the TV room at the hostel before we went early to bed.

Again yesterday we got awake before the alarm and went back up there but today we had skins with us and planed to do some hiking around the lift system. We hiked up a ridge to get to a face who was really close to the skiing area but no one had skied there yet so we got it all by ourselves. Erik and me stopped 10 min away from the face and Asbjørn and Hampus hiked up to the start. When they dropped in for a run with the best snow they ever had been skiing Erik was ready with his camera to get some shots and he got it! Now Me and Erik hiked up and got ready for our runs. I found a cliff i wanted to drop in the start so Erik skied down on the right side of it and jumped out a little snow edge there and he flew pretty good on that one so I figured out that the cliff would be bigger than I expected. When I  dropped inn I understood that this was the snow of my life.  4 turns later I was on the edge and it was a nice cliff who gave me a good airtime. The landing was steep and the snow so good so it was no problem stomping that landing. It was just to ski down to the others raise my hands in the air and just enjoy the snow, sun and everything surrounding us.

Hiked the same face once more that day before it got cloudy again and really cold. Went down to the motel grabbed some beers and just relaxed before we went out eating with a Canadian guy called Steve. After the dinner we went back to the Hostel and meet up with the other people there and after a while we hiked up in the forest with a bunch of locals to celebrate new year's eve with a huge fire place and snow racers!!

Today Saturday was a down day just sleeping, eating and hanging out getting ready for the big cat skiing day tomorrow!!!! Post some pictures from the helmet cam so you can see how it is! :D

I'm sorry about the latency on updating the blog. I have been really tired after the long flight and driving. After skiing we have just died.

But I will tell you all about it from the start. Saturday night I started 03.00 back home at my parents place. My dad woke up and drove me to the airport in Torp (Sandefjord). My plane left 06.30 an hell yea I got problems to get through the security check. Since my GoPro Camera was switched on they did not let me trough so I had to start up my computer and let them see all I got on it and delete what I hade filmed at the airport for security reasons. But finally I got trough and was ready for many hours of traveling. When I arrived in Amsterdam I meet up with Asbjørn who arrived 15 min before me. Erik managed to change his booking so he arrived 30 min after us. Now we had 6 hours of waiting before our flight left to Canada. After 6 long hours and 9 more on the flight to Canada we finally arrived in Calgary. After much talking in the passport control we got trough and was ready to pick up our luggage. All the bags came who is not normal when you are changing flights. Erik picked up the rental car and we was ready for the road. Since we are going for Cat skiing at Big Red Cats on Sunday we decided to start off in Fernie. 5 hours of driving later we came in to Fernie and got a room at Raging Elk who was ok but not the best place to live. We got some hours of sleep but we could all feel the jetlag when we woke up.

The First day in Fernie was on packed snow so we used the day to recognize the area and figure out where the good skiing was. In the end of the day they opened a area who had been closed because of the avalanche danger. There we found some good snow and the day was perfect! We were really tired after the skiing so we went down to a local coffee shop who was super sweet! After some hours there we found a new place to live a really nice place called Powder mountain lodge. Really nice place close to everything and ok standard for three longhaired skiers. The night ended early since we were all tired!!

Woke up to 20cm fresh powder yesterday. After a fast breakfast we headed up to the mountain and it was blowing like hell but Fernie is much forest so we skied in the forest all day. The forest is steep and I can't compare it to anything else I have skied before. We got some good runs and some bad ones. Our legs was completely dead when we was done for the day. Went home to relax and took a coffee before we went to a taco dinner place. In the evening we went out for some beers before we went to bed.

Today Wednesday we woke up around 09.00 packed our gear in to the car and left Fernie.

Arrived Rossland after 5h drive to easy snowfall. Gone stay here for 5 nights and the conditions looks really good!

After weeks of waiting it is final here. My plane is leaving 06.30 tomorrow morning.

After a 2h flight I'm in Amsterdam where I meet up with Asbjørn and Erik before we jump in to next plane and have 9h before we are in Canada!

Our trip isn't much planed yet. We have a car waiting for us in Calgary and after that the plan is still open. I guess we will go to Revelstoke or some area around there first and then take the road down against USA. The 2nd of January we are booked in on a day of cat skiing in Big Red where we got a really good deal and are going out on the same cat as a film crew so we will be able to ski the steep lines that day. It's going to be SICK!!!!

Right now I'm going to pack my last things before I'm going out to take some beers with my friends here home in Sætre and then I will leave around 03.00 tonight.

Me and Erik went by the House of Hygge in Hemsedal to say good bye and Merry Christmas before we left this week.

When i got back home to my parrents place i vent to Røyken and got my back fixed one last time before i left.     Have hade some problems with it both last season and in the beginning now so i hope it is bether after the last session.

In Sandvika i meet my self in the door so if you are in the arrea and need some stuff from Slakkline chekc out Passo at Sandvika storsenter.

One of the last things i did before Christmas was to mount Marker Duke on the Hart Hulas so i have something to use while we are hiking in Canada. Really looking forward to take this skies out in the powder! Sport 1 Røyken is always kind alnd let's me use there service room so i can mount my skis. Think it is the third Christmas where im there mounting skis! Thanks Amund, Vidar and Thomas.

Then i have to show you the sickest house in this arrea...feels like we are in America...

Got some work donne and tryed to get some skiing as well. Still not much snow up here, but right now i dont care since it have started to dump in Canada and it is only two weeks before im leaving so i will get some real pow soon!

Saturday i went up in the hill with David for some park shred and it ended in a lithle movie from the new park areas in Hemsedal.

Before this season I got a pair of Dalbello ID inner boots who are made of some kind of foam ho gets soft when you warm it up and then you put it on your foot and inside the outer shell and waits to it is getting cold before you take it off. I'm so Lucky that Erik Lundstöm who I share house with have been working for Surefoot in Oslo and even are working for Dalbello Norway now so he helped me out to fit the inner boot perfect. It is some tuning who needs to be done so I want recommend to do it on your own if you don't know what to do.

I understand that people want a comfy boot while they are skiing so instead of using a stiff racing boot you can find a boot who have softer flex and still get a tight boots, but then you should not have a stiff ski. Stiff skies needs stiffer boots to handle them right and with a soft ski it is recommended with a softer boot but it works even with a stiff one. By boots after your level and not witch level you hope you are at.

Boots are really important in your skiing. Go to a store who have a big wall of skiing boots, try many different ones and be sure they can help you to get a perfect fit for your foot. It is even important to have a sole who are made especially for YOUR foot. All big sport shops have the opportunity and tools needed to make custom soles for you. If you don't have a custom sole it is not a point to start fit your boots. When you tighten the boot your foot will "collapse" because it doesn't have the stability on a original flat sole. It is worth the money and if you first have a pair of boots perfectly customized to your foot, you will have them for many seasons and your feet will feel well! When you are looking for a new boot it is not even a choice to go for a cheap one. You get what you are paying for and I think is it better to use less money on skis or use your skiing clothes one more season instead of by a cheap pair of boots!

When it comes to witch size should I have many people makes a big mistake. They are going for one size bigger than they need so they can put a extra pair of socks on for the really cold days. NO NO NO!! Only use one pair of socks in your boots it should be a pair of long skiing socks who ends over the boot so you only have one layer inside. Even not your under layer pants are allowed inside the boots! It hurt your legs over time!

It is different types of inner boots. You have the "normal" ones who are in the boot when you purchase it. You can't do that much with this type of inner boots, but you can pad on places where you have to much room and you can still block out the plastic shell if they are too tight.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Then you have the ID boots that I'm skiing with now who you heat up in the oven and they will take the shape of your foot. Here you are padding your foot if you have parts of the boot who gives you pressure to your feet on some places. If it is much you can block the plastic shell.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           The last type of inner boots is foamed. When you are taking them on the first time they are only a shell in leather and then after padding your foot you put foam in between the layers so they are getting the exact shape of your foot. Even here you can customize like the ID boot but also make more changes. This is what the alpine racers are using but then you have to go to special stores like Surefoot because it is not many normal sport shops who can do this. In some bigger ski resorts like Hemsedal and Trysil in Norway I know they can help you out with this as well.

Fasten your customizes sole to your foot and pad the places where you want to have some extra space and pull over your skiing socks.

Then step inside your shell and let the boots get cold. If you want more space and comfort you can stand up while they are getting cold. I guess it sounds easy but I think help from a professional is the best to get a good result!

The movie was coolbut kind of special...Not the best ski movie i have seen butit was fun and some nice segments from Europe with Karine Falck Pedersenand Hugo Harrison a really nice part from Alaska with Stian hagen and in the end Epic shots from Svalbard.

On Friday morning i went back home to Hemsedal and Picked up Linnea at Gardermoen airport. She was going to Hemsedal for the weekend.

This weekend some of the stores in Hemsedal had season Kick off with ski demo and fashin show.

Thomas and Mari from Beerenberg came up to hang out and get some skiing done. Went out for dinner with them on Friday before i went to bed early. went out early on Saturday skiing from 9-12.30 before the fashion show started.

It was good conditions in the hill and we got some good runns before we ended the day. The evening ended in a great PArty at Bart with many happy people. Now im heading back for work and thinking about that it is less than a month before im in Canada!! :D Stoked about that!!

On Thursday i went by Lene and her Store. Havent seen her for a while so that was nice and even Martin came by on his way to Trysil and the Sweet rumble.

Then i headed over to Stabekk and the Warren Miller movie. Beerenberg was represented there!! Sweet!

And then Friday morning iwent by this place to fix some stuff before i turned the car in direction Hemsedal.

Picked up this Sweedish girl on my way back... nice to give me the finger when i try to be nice and give her a ride up to the mountains...

Then Saturday i went out skiing with the Sales crew from Beerenberg in the coolest suits ever!

Meet this Crazy girl from Bergen at Bart and i gave her a beanie from Beerenberg!

Took allot of pictures yesterday so I'm going to guide you through my day in Oslo...

First i Arrived at Hotel Svanes who have 5 stars in the guide from Hotels.com

Then Wednesday morning i meet up with my cousin who was going to pick up his car...A pretty nice one! :D

There it is! Smooth old retro thing!

Then we headed for lunch. Even i need some food sometimes and much coffee!!

Then we headed back to Bislet before i went over to the Beerenberg Office.

Welcome!! After Activebrands got married to Skigutane they turned out to be a big company!

This dude meets you when you come in to the office! Beerenberg represent!

Then Jocci from Hotell Svanes arrived to pick up my car and park it for the night. Look at his jacket! He won the brilleskille competition on Facebook last week and this is what he won!

Here i gues i should have posted some pictures from the Clothes but im not going to do that!

It looked really nice and it was Me,Erik and Sigrid Rykhus from the Natioal telemark team Camilla Ringvold and Jana who was the models for the evening! It was fun specialy when the croud wasnt that big...Hope to post some pics from the clothes soon but you have to wait!! :D
